Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot including angels, demons, and dark forces increasing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of heroes who will separate from the central cast to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Given 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might seem unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his obligations and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, north of the city, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a individual motive to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer has experience in the region and advises that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their status as key figures in the powerful family could assist the party access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to head to the remote area in quest for Casimir.
What’s Next?
According to episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Explorers and Planners tables.
Viewers can look forward to discovering which characters will be where in the story’s concluding setup installment, released on October 24.
